Community Impact

Cultivated a Culture

Our cooperative business has only been around 100 years because of the local support we’ve been given by farmer-owners. We find it our responsibility and privilege to return that support to the many communities that we call home. Annually, Co-Alliance gives more than $500,000 back to rural communities, finding worthy causes in agriculture education and leadership, food security, and farm and energy safety. Those three pillars are the foundations in which we build our giving around, crafting a culture that supports dollars and training being invested into those areas.

Ag Education & Leadership

We give back financially to the 4-H and FFA programs, support the youth by purchasing livestock at 4-H auctions and support ag education and leadership programs throughout the trade territory. We provide backtags for county fairs and the Indiana State Fair along with sponsoring the Celebration of Champions.

Food Security

We volunteer our time and financially give back to food banks, along with partnering with organizations like Land O'Lakes to maximize our dollars and feed as many people as we can.

Cultivating Communities

Cultivating Communities encourages all full-time employees to provide service in their local communities and continue the tradition of nurturing local community organizations. Communities benefit when we can each share our unique skills. When an employee donates 8 hours of service, Co-Alliance will also give to the organization financially.

Planting The Seeds For Food Security

Planting The Seeds For Food Security was developed to invite Co-Alliance employees to play a key part in ending hunger in local rural communities. What may seem like an insignificant amount out of their bi-weekly pay adds up tremendously to serve rural communities. With Co-Alliance matching every dollar donated by our employees, Land O’Lakes then matched what Co-Alliance commits.

Co-Alliance Scholarship Program

Our Scholarship Program is designed to benefit college-bound high school seniors who are the children and grandchildren of our local cooperative members and who intend to study agriculture. We award 30 one-time scholarships of $1,000 each to students who meet our qualifications. Awards are announced in May and June at the schools.
